Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Pactners ("we", "us", or "the app") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Pactners mobile application and this website. Pactners is a two-person accountability app: you pair with one partner, set a shared weekly goal, and log proof that you showed up.
1. Information We Collect
Account information
- Email address — used to create and sign in to your account. If you use Sign in with Apple, we receive the email Apple provides (which may be a private relay address).
- Display name — the name you choose, shown to your partner.
- Profile photo (optional) — an avatar you choose to upload.
Content you create
- Proof photos — photos you take or select when logging that you completed your goal. Photos are only ever shared with your paired partner; they are never public.
- Notes — optional short notes attached to proof logs and nudges.
- Pact details — your weekly goal, commitment text, and the stake you and your partner set.
Information collected automatically
- Push notification token — a device token used to deliver notifications (for example, when your partner logs proof or sends you a nudge).
- Subscription status — your free-trial and subscription state, processed by RevenueCat and the App Store. We do not receive or store your payment card details; payments are handled entirely by Apple.
- Basic technical data — such as device platform and app version, used for the app to function and to diagnose problems.
We do not collect your precise location, contacts, or browsing history, and we do not use third-party advertising or tracking SDKs.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide the core service: pairing you with your partner, displaying the shared dashboard, storing and showing proof photos, and tracking weekly progress.
- To send push notifications you'd expect from the app (partner activity, nudges, weekly reminders). You can disable these in the app or in system settings.
- To manage your free trial and subscription.
- To respond to support requests.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your data for advertising.
3. Who Can See Your Content
Pactners is built around a single private pact between two people. Your proof photos, notes, progress, and profile are visible only to you and your paired partner. Nothing you post in Pactners is public. If you disconnect from your partner, they no longer have access to your ongoing activity.
4. Service Providers
We rely on a small number of service providers to run Pactners. Each receives only the data needed to do its job:

These providers process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes beyond providing their service.
5. Data Retention
We keep your data while your account is active. Proof photos and weekly history are retained so the app can show your history and streaks. If you delete your account, your profile, pact, proof photos, and notes are deleted from our systems, except where brief retention in backups or logs is technically necessary, after which they are purged.
6. Deleting Your Account and Data
You can delete your account at any time from inside the app (Profile → Settings). Deleting your account removes your personal data as described above. You can also request deletion by emailing pactnersapp@gmail.com from the address associated with your account — see our Support page for details.
7. Security
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and stored with access controls that restrict each user's data to that user and their paired partner. Authentication credentials on your device are stored in the operating system's secure storage.
8. Children's Privacy
Pactners is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, or to object to certain processing. You can exercise most of these directly in the app, or by contacting us at pactnersapp@gmail.com. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
10. International Transfers
Our service providers may store and process data on servers located outside your country. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continued use of Pactners after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
