Frequently Asked Questions
How do I pair with my partner?
After creating your profile, you'll get a unique invite code. Share it with your partner via the share button or by sending them the link. They enter the code (or tap the link) and your pact is created. Invite codes expire after 48 hours — just generate a new one if it lapses.
Can I have more than one partner?
No — Pactners is intentionally one pact between two people. That focus is what makes the accountability real.
How do I change our weekly goal or the stake?
Either partner can edit the commitment, the weekly target, and the stake from the dashboard or Settings. Changes apply to the current week onward.
My partner's progress isn't updating.
The dashboard syncs in real time when both phones are online. Try pulling to refresh, check your connection, and make sure you're both on the latest version of the app.
I'm not receiving notifications.
Check that notifications are enabled both in the app (Profile → Notifications) and in iOS Settings → Notifications → Pactners. Notifications also require having an active pact.
How do I manage or cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are billed through your Apple ID. To manage or cancel: iPhone Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Pactners. Canceling stops the next renewal; you keep access until the end of the paid period. For refunds, use reportaproblem.apple.com — App Store purchases can only be refunded by Apple.
How do I restore a purchase on a new phone?
Sign in with the same account, then tap Restore Purchases on the paywall or in Settings. Make sure you're signed into the same Apple ID you purchased with.
Deleting Your Account & Data
You can delete your Pactners account and associated data at any time:
- In the app: go to Profile → Settings → Delete Account and confirm. This permanently deletes your profile, pact, proof photos, and notes.
- By email: if you can't access the app, email pactnersapp@gmail.com from the address associated with your account with the subject "Delete my account."
Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Your partner keeps their own account but the shared pact ends. Note that deleting your account does not cancel an active App Store subscription — cancel it in your Apple ID subscription settings as described above.
